In October I launched my Working Group on Employment as part of my role as Employability Officer at Muscular Dystrophy UK. My Working Group will be made up of young disabled people to find out what barriers they have faced when trying to find employment. I will collect evidence from the member and feed this into policy recommendations that I will put forward to MPs and other key decision-makers.
I have first-hand experience of the barriers young disabled people can face when trying to find work (read about my Journey to Employment here). This group is a great way to create targeted policy recommendations that will address real experiences.
