My second Young Disabled Person’s Working Group on Employment meeting was held in the beautiful Guildhall in February. I had so many talented young disabled people come and tell me their experiences when trying to find and stay in work. We discussed everything from disclosure of disability to what happens if you can’t attend work because your carer calls in sick. All of the discussion will help my policy recommendations as Employability Officer at Muscular Dystrophy UK.
